First up is on my experience playing Perfect World Online (PH) for the benefit of those who haven’t played the game either those who are not able to connect to the Philippine Server due to the IP block because aside form the Malaysian Server which needs an english patch now and then for them to play. first of all here are some of my insights and observations on the game: It has the most robust character creation/customization i’ve seen in an MMO. Some FAQs for the Philippine Server of the game the game is Free to Play (F2P) and has an Item Mall, purchasing items in the item mall requires the person to top up using a Levelupgames Prepaid Card widely available in the Philippines. the official website for the game can be seen on the left side of the blog under “MMO’s I’m Currently Playing” for those players who still want to play in the PH server there is a way to connect even though theres an IP block in which mostly everyone knows about using a “proxy” to be able to connect.
Upon entering the world there are striking similarities to the gameplay and some mechanics of World of Warcraft up to the point that some of my colleagues who have played both games said that if there was an online game that ever was a WoW clone this would be it (Not Guild Wars as some would claim) hands down. now that this is not a bad thing because this would give local MMO players here in the philippines to experience a WoW- like gameplay or western MMO’s who don’t have the money or a credit card to pay for the monthly fee of the game (private servers don’t count for experience) surprisingly the game is good due to the nature of the game being quest-based and not grinding (much like WoW and GW ) it even has a WoW-like “tradeskill” system. one of the best things that i liked about the game’s item mall feature is that it doesn’t force you to buy the items unlike e-games’ RAN Online in which it is mandatory to purchase items for your toon to be able to level up properly and be competitive and take note these items are consumable and have expiration dates, mostly PW’s items are for Aestethics only. here are some screens of my toons.
